John is a graduate of Selinsgrove Area High School and Clarion University. He began his career in wealth management as a Financial Advisor for a Fortune 500 banking institution in Pittsburgh. After nearly a decade in corporate banking, John and his longtime colleague and partner set out to establish the Maloy Sporar Financial Group, a boutique personal wealth management firm located in Murrysville, PA, where John resides with his family.
In 2023, John decided to expand his practice to include the Selinsgrove area, where both he and his wife Rebecca were raised and have strong family ties. True to Starr Financials’ legacy of being a family-operated business, John partnered with Courtney (his sister-in-law) to expand Starr Financials’ services to include full-service wealth management and personal financial advising. John is available for in-person meetings at the Selinsgrove office by appointment as well as by video and telephone conferencing.
